How to Combine Two Images

  1. Choose two photos

JPG, PNG, or WebP, each up to 25MB, at most 8,192 px on a side, and at most 24 megapixels. Both files stay in this browser.

  2. Pick a direction

Side by side is selected. Stacked puts one photo above the other. Swap them if photo 2 should lead.

  3. Set the space and the color

The space starts at 0 px and runs to 200 px. White is #ffffff. Black is #000000. Clear is only empty in a PNG.

  4. Download PNG or JPG

The file is the joined size. It has no watermark. The long side on screen is at most 1,400 px. The download is not that preview.

Combine Two Images Without Uploading Them

Combine two images online free on this page. Open it in a phone or computer browser, choose two JPG, PNG, or WebP files, and the join is drawn here. Combine two images online here means one file with photo 1 and photo 2. The photos are not uploaded. The full-size PNG or JPG is free and has no watermark.

Side by side is selected when the page opens. Photo 1 is on the left, and photo 2 is on the right. Stacked puts photo 1 on top and photo 2 underneath. Match the shorter side is on when the page opens. Side by side, both photos are drawn at the shorter photo's height. Stacked, both photos are drawn at the narrower photo's width. Each photo keeps its shape. A photo is not enlarged. It is not stretched. The space starts at 0 px. White is selected.

The download uses the joined pixel size, not the smaller preview. JPEG is re-encoded at quality 0.92. PNG is not. A color fills the space between the photos and shows through transparent pixels. Clear leaves that space transparent in a PNG. JPG has no transparency: Clear uses white. To mirror one photo first, flip an image. To type on a photo first, add text to an image. A frame around one photo is add a border to an image. A round crop is crop to a circle. A white outline that follows a person is photo to sticker. A cutout is the PNG maker. To soften the room and keep the subject, blur the background of a photo. Sticker, PNG maker, and background blur upload the photo, and the full-size file there is paid.

When Two Photos Belong in One File

A before and an after

Put the earlier photo on the left and the later photo on the right. Match the shorter side so the pair lines up.

Two portraits

Leave side by side on. The shorter photo sets the height. Neither face is stretched.

A pair for a post

Add a few pixels of space and leave White selected when the pair needs a gap.

One above the other

Choose Stacked. Photo 1 stays on top. The narrower photo sets the width.

Before You Download

  • Match the shorter side first

Leave it on unless you need the original pixel size of both photos. Turn it off and the shorter photo can sit at the top, center, or bottom.

  • PNG or JPG

Use PNG when a photo has transparency and Clear is selected. Use JPG when the file has to be solid. A chosen color shows through transparent pixels in both.

  • Photo 1 leads

Photo 1 is on the left, or on top. Swap if the order is backwards. Replacing one photo does not upload either file.

  • Phone photos

A JPEG from the phone is rotated to the way it looks on screen, including the EXIF orientation, before the join. HEIC is not accepted. Export a JPEG or PNG from the phone first.

Limits

These match the current page. Combine two images never uploads the photos. This page does not crop either photo into a square.

  • JPG, PNG, or WebP only, each up to 25MB, at most 8,192 px on a side, and at most 24 megapixels. A larger file is refused so the full-size export can finish in the browser. HEIC is not accepted.
  • On screen the preview's long side is at most 1,400 px. The download is the joined file at its own pixel size, not that preview.
  • Side by side is selected when the page opens. Photo 1 is on the left and photo 2 is on the right. Stacked puts photo 1 on top. Swap exchanges them.
  • Match the shorter side is on when the page opens. Side by side, both photos are drawn at the shorter photo's height. Stacked, both photos are drawn at the narrower photo's width. The other side changes in proportion. A photo is not enlarged. It is not stretched.
  • Turn match the shorter side off to keep each photo's pixel size. Center is selected when the page opens. Side by side, Top, Center, and Bottom place the shorter photo. Stacked, Left, Center, and Right place the narrower photo. Empty space uses the background. While match the shorter side is on, both photos already share that edge, so alignment does not move them.
  • The space starts at 0 px and runs to 200 px in steps of 1 px. That space is the gap between the photos, in pixels on the download. It is not a frame around the outside.
  • White is #ffffff and is selected when the page opens. Black is #000000. Any other #rrggbb value comes from the color control. A value that is not a 6-digit hex color or Clear is treated as #ffffff. A color fills the gap and shows through transparent pixels, so the file is opaque. Clear leaves the gap transparent in a PNG and keeps each photo's alpha. JPG has no transparency: Clear uses white, and any other color is the color you picked.
  • If the join would be over 8,192 px on a side or over 24 megapixels, the whole join, including the space, is scaled down until it fits. Shapes stay the same, aside from at most a pixel of rounding. Nothing is stretched on purpose.
  • JPEG downloads are re-encoded at quality 0.92. PNG is not. If this browser cannot encode a JPEG, the download is a PNG of the same pixels, and transparency stays when Clear is selected.
  • The preview draws with canvas drawImage from the same positions as the download. The download does not use that preview. It samples pixels with the same fit, gap, and alignment. A 1:1 photo is copied. A scaled photo uses bilinear sampling.
  • A JPEG from the phone is rotated to the way it looks on screen, including the EXIF orientation, before the join. This page does not install an app, does not call a model, and does not upload the photos. It does not mirror a photo, does not type words, and does not crop either photo into a square.
