What This Watermark Remover Does
This page removes a watermark from an image by painting over it. An AI inpainting model fills the painted area from the pixels around it, so a small logo or stamp can disappear into the photo. You choose the spot. Nothing outside the brush is rewritten. A photo that is only too small, with no mark to paint out, is a different job: the image upscaler enlarges it 4×, up to 4096px on the long side, and does not remove a watermark.
Use it on images you own or have permission to edit: a logo you placed on a draft, a studio stamp on your own shoot, or a date printed in the corner. It is not for stripping a creator's credit, a stock-photo mark, or a copyright notice from someone else's work. For an object in the scene, use the object remover. For a caption or label, use the text remover.
When It Fits
Your own logo on a draft
Take a proof mark off a photo before you publish the clean version.
Date stamps
Orange camera dates in a corner are small and usually sit on a simple background.
A stamp you added
Remove a badge or wordmark you placed, then export the photo without it.
Not someone else's credit
Leave stock marks, signatures and copyright lines alone. Crop or license the image instead.
Tips for a Clean Fill
Cover the halo
Semi-transparent logos leave a faint edge. Paint a little past the visible mark.
One pass from the original
Each run starts from the upload. Paint every spot before you click Remove It. A second pass means uploading the HD file again, which uses another credit.
Small marks on plain areas
A corner logo on sky, wall or water fills more cleanly than a tiled mark across a face.
Objects are a different tool
A bin, wire or person in the scene is the photo eraser or the people remover, not a watermark.
Limitations
- The fill is generated from the surroundings. It does not recover the original pixels under the mark.
- A watermark tiled across the whole photo, or one sitting on a face, pattern or other text, often looks smoothed or incomplete.
- You have to paint the area. The tool does not find watermarks by itself.
- The free preview is 512px on the longest side and carries a ZeroBG mark. The HD file is full size without that mark, and uses one credit.
- JPG, PNG or WebP only, up to 25MB. Not video.
Brush Fill vs. Other Ways to Lose a Mark
A watermark remover paints out a region and invents a fill. Cropping and covering do not. None of these grant you rights you do not already have.
| Brush + AI fill | Crop | Cover or blur | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keeps the frame | Yes | No | Yes |
| Looks untouched | Often, on a simple background | Yes, if the mark is at the edge | No |
| What you control | The painted area | The crop box | A box or blur |
| Best for | Your own small mark inside the photo | A mark hard against the edge | Redaction where looks do not matter |
Remove Watermark FAQ
Is this watermark remover free?
You can upload, paint and download a 512px preview with a ZeroBG mark, no account. One full-size download is $1.99 with no account, or one HD credit. A free account includes 1 credit. Packs are $4.99 for 20 or $9 for 100.
Can I remove a watermark from any image?
No. Only images you have the right to edit — for example a watermark, stamp or date you added yourself. Removing a stock mark or a photographer's credit from someone else's photo can infringe their rights. This tool does not check ownership.
Will it find the watermark for me?
No. You brush over the mark, then click Remove It. That keeps the edit where you put it.
Does the HD download still have a watermark?
The preview carries a ZeroBG mark and is 512px on the longest side. The HD file is your full-size edit without the ZeroBG mark. Only the area you painted is filled in.
What if the mark is text?
A short stamp works here. A caption, username or label is usually a better fit for the text remover. An object in the scene belongs on the object remover.
What file types can I use?
JPG, PNG and WebP up to 25MB. It does not process video.
