Brighten Photo Online
Upload a dark photo. Drag brightness and exposure for an instant browser preview, or brighten it with AI. No sentence to write. The AI preview is watermarked. $1.99 unlocks that one file.

Upload only a photo you have permission to edit.
JPG, PNG or WebP up to 25MB. The AI path reduces photos over 1440px on the long side. 2 free AI previews per device today, and 4 per network. The sliders do not use those. A somewhat dark photo works better than severe underexposure, heavy noise, or a completely black area. The output can shift slightly, so the framing may not match the upload pixel for pixel.
How to Brighten a Photo
Upload one photo
JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 25MB. A photo you are allowed to edit. No account, and nothing to type.
Try the sliders
Brightness and exposure update immediately in the browser, up to 1024px on the long side. That preview does not use a free AI preview, and it does not call the model.
Brighten with AI
That click uses one of today's free previews. There is no box for your own sentence. The model sees the upload, not the slider position. A watermarked preview appears, up to 1024px on the long side.

$1.99 with no account, or 1 credit, unlocks the AI file already made. That payment covers this result only. The page shows its pixel size.
Brighten a Dark or Underexposed Photo
Brighten photo is for a picture that came out too dark. You can drag a brightness slider and an exposure slider first. Each slider runs from -100 to 100. Zero leaves the pixels unchanged. At 100, exposure doubles a mid-gray pixel. At -100, it halves it. Those sliders run in your browser, up to 1024px on the long side. They only raise or lower pixels already in the file. They do not call a model, and they do not use a free preview. They cannot fill a completely black area, and they can wash out parts that were already light.
Brighten with AI is separate. You do not write a sentence, and you do not paint a mask. It sends the photo you uploaded, not the slider position. The free AI preview is watermarked. Two previews per device each day, and four per network. No account. It is a generated edit, not a guarantee of natural exposure. A somewhat dark photo is the better case. Severe underexposure, heavy noise, and areas that are completely black often stay muddy or look smeared. Colors, small details, text, and the face can change slightly. The framing can shift slightly. Compare the preview with your photo before you pay.
$1.99, or 1 HD credit, unlocks the AI file that was already made. It does not run the model again. A shadow on an otherwise well-exposed photo is remove a shadow from a photo. Camera shake is unblur an image. A file that needs more pixels is the image upscaler.
Browser Sliders vs. AI Brighten
| Browser sliders | AI brighten | Unblur | Image upscaler | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Raises or lowers existing pixels | Tries for a natural exposure | Fixes light camera shake | Makes the file 4× larger |
| Where it runs | In your browser. No model | One generated edit | A restoration model | An upscale model |
| Black areas | Exposure leaves pure black at 0. Brightness adds only a flat shift, with no new detail | Severe underexposure often stays muddy | Does not brighten a dark photo | Does not change the exposure |
| Price | Free. Does not use a preview | $1.99 for this AI file | $1.99 for that file | $1.99 for that file |
The sliders do not create the HD file. The AI unlock pays for a file that was already made. None of them promises the photo will look untouched.
When a Photo Is Dark, Not Blurry
A somewhat dark indoor photo
The subject is visible but underexposed. This is the better case for the AI edit. Details can still change slightly.
A face in shade
A face that is dark but not lost. Look at the preview before you pay. The face can change slightly. This does not remove the person.
Severe underexposure or noise
A very dark frame, heavy noise, or an area that is completely black often stays muddy or looks smeared. The sliders cannot invent detail that is not in the file.
A different problem
A shadow on a brighter photo is [remove a shadow from a photo](/remove-shadow-from-photo). Camera shake is [unblur an image](/unblur-image). A small file is the [image upscaler](/image-upscaler).
What This Brighten Tool Is Not
The AI preview is free and watermarked, up to 1024px on the long side. The paid file is the image the model returned for this one photo, with no ZeroBG watermark. The browser sliders are a separate preview, also up to 1024px on the long side, and they are not that file.
- A somewhat dark, underexposed photo is the better case. Severe underexposure, heavy noise, and areas that are completely black often stay muddy or look smeared. The sliders cannot fill a completely black area.
- Colors, small details, text, and the face can change slightly. The framing can shift slightly. It is not a promise that a face stays the same, that text stays readable, or that a document photo will pass any review.
- There is no box for your own sentence. The slider position is not sent to the model. Upload only a photo you have permission to edit.
- Photos are sent in at up to 1440px on the long side. JPG, PNG, or WebP up to 25MB. The HD download is that result's real width and height, which the page shows. It is not your original pixel size.
- $1.99, or 1 HD credit, unlocks the stored AI file. It does not run the model again. This device gets 2 free previews a day. The same network gets 4. A signed-in account gets 2 a day, and those still count on the same network. A failure before the model starts does not count as a try. A run that reached the model still counts as a try even if it fails, up to 4 tries on this device and 8 on the same network. The try and the free preview both reset at 00:00 UTC. The browser sliders do not use those previews.
- A shadow is remove a shadow from a photo. Camera shake is unblur an image. More pixels are the image upscaler.

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP. Drag the brightness and exposure sliders for an instant browser preview, or click Brighten with AI. You do not write a prompt. The AI preview is watermarked, up to 1024px on the long side.
What is the difference between the sliders and AI brighten?

Will the edit change other details?
The AI edit can. Colors, small details, text, and the face may change slightly, and the framing can shift. The sliders do not redraw the photo, but they can wash out parts that were already light. Compare before you pay, and keep the original file.
Can this fix an overexposed photo?
No. This page does not fix overexposed photo detail that the camera already clipped to white. It is for a dark or underexposed photo. A bright reflection on glass is remove glare from a photo.
